The red eye effect is a well known problem in photography. It is often seen in amateur shots taken with a built-in flash, but the problem is also well known to professional photographers. Red eye is the red reflection of the blood vessels in the retina caused when a strong and sudden light strikes the eye. Red eye is a function of at least three things: • Ambient light level.
